Smarthome system

With this project I built a smart home security system. It includes LED lights as detection occurs, as well as a buzzer to alert when an object is within 6 inches to the motion sensor. It involved coding, engineering the wires, leds, buzzer, and motion sensor to the correct ports, and utilizing the Arduino system to upload the code to the system. I also used Tinkercad to make a prototype of the system to give me an idea of what I would be doing ahead of time. This system could be used for a variety of things in home, for example the door closed switch could be used to verify your garage door is closed. The motion sensor could be used for a parking assistance in your garage, for a range check to your closeness to the walls. The logging outputs could be used to send a text at night if any doors are still opened, and the water sensor could let you know if there is any flooding in your home.

Introduction to computer operating systems

In this project and course, I learned the commands, structure, and how to do various things within an operating system. One thing I learned was how to create, and delete accounts and groups. In the link provided is the final project and all the projects that were completed during my course.

CEIS 110 (Introduction to programming project)

During this semester and during this project I learned a lot of valuable information about the fundamentals of programming. I learned the importance of taking second looks at the work, saving the files into the same folders so the information can be found and used during the next part of code. Specifically during this project I learned how to make a weather code and create graphs, predictions, and data lists with the information downloaded.

CEIS 114 INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL DEVICES.

In this project we built a traffic light system. At the end we were asked to choose 1 of 2 options. I decided to choose option 2 where I could add a blue light and an emergency push button which turned my LED lights red so there would be "no traffic" so an emergency vehicle would be able to go through easily. It was a great project to be able to work on.

CEIS 191 NETWORKING

In this project I learned the skills of using commands and how networking works, and what is needed for it work correctly. This project came with some complications but thats what helps one learn to fix mistakes.

Networking 211 Fundamentals of cloud computing

In this project the goal was to successfully utilize v,ware to do a variety of tasks. These tasks ranged from creating containers, blobs, snapshots of blobs, creating subnets, and being able to successfully deleting resources and groups when asked to. This project gave me the knowledge and confidence of being able to use vmware on my own to explore it more as well as ideas if tasks I can do within the vmware to expand my knowledge even further.

SEC 285 Fundamentals of Information System Security

Network 310 Wired and wireless communications

In this project and course I learned many new skills such as; encryption, policies for BYOD, MFA, and NMAPing. The encryption was the first thing learned and something very interesting to do. The purpose of the course an dthe project was to demonstrate skills learned, and ways to enhance security on a device, and how to test the vulnerability.

This project had hands on experience working with Oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and graphs. This project taught me many new skills that I enjoyed learning and am looking forward to applying it when needed in my future endeavors.

Physics

This was probably the most challenging course that I have taken so far at Devry. I am normally great at mathematics but physics was more than I was expecting and proved a challenge. We learned about sound waves, used a sensor, esp32 board, and a rotary encoder.
